The first wave of Russian holidaymakers arrive in Almeria.
Tourism in the region of Almeria looks set to flourish this summer with the start of a new service of direct flights between the airports of Almeria and Moscow which will bring around 2,100 Russian tourists to the area between now and the 19th September 2012.
The new service marks the first tourism programme aimed directly at the emerging Russian tourism market and will involve 10 flights bringing 210 holidaymakers to the area every ten days.Javier Aureliano Garcia, Vice President of the Provisional Government, said that the new scheme will be incredibly beneficial for both the region, tourism industry and local economy, especially given that Russian tourists are fairly “generous” with an average daily spending of around 120 Euros, 30% more than the average.
Almeria is also home to Mar de Pulpi, an exclusive beach front development offering apartments and town houses by the beach.
