What are Russian buyers looking for in a Spanish Property?
From the 23rd to 25th of January, Torrevieja played host to the Russian Meeting Point Costa Blanca, an event aimed at the Russian market and where TM Real Estate Group not only attended the exhibition, but also gave speeches at key conferences!
Amongst the presentations given was one by our very own Inmaculada González, Client Administration Manager who, together with Daria Kuropatkina as translator, gave an interesting presentation forming a Practical Guide to Buying a Property in Spain.
An important point made during her speech was how “these days, the current legislation in Spain ensures that the purchase of a property is very safe,” adding that “if you trust in a professional and solvent company such as TM, you can save on the legal fees charged by solicitors given that, if the property is illegal, it’s not on the market!”
The presentation also highlighted some of the key characteristics of this new influx of Russian buyers: “they are usually families, young people with children who are searching for a better quality of life, a very different customer profile to the typical Scandinavian customer for example.”
Another unique characteristic is that Russian buyers are “very demanding, they need a lot of information” and that “they are not only looking for a property, but also require all the services associated with such a purchase, such as rental management, buying furniture and white goods or securing a mortgage.”
Finally, Inma stressed how “steps to facilitate the procedures involved in organising a visa will improve sales greatly given that most Russian buyers are looking to stay in Spain for longer periods than other nationalities.”
